We are seeking an innovative Solution Architect to serve as the technical architectural expert for business and IT stakeholders. They will provide guidance and leadership to project teams in the ideation, elaboration, design, and delivery of technology solutions.
The successful candidate will provide necessary governance and system-level designs for end-to-end solutions including inter-system/application structures. They will also drive short-term and long-term architecture strategy for the overall technology project portfolio for key business segments.
Their primary focus will be on the credit card line of business, and will support other LOBs (deposits, mortgage, Invest, etc.) as necessary.
The Work Itself
- Perform rapid proof-of-concepts to experiment and build rails for the engineering team to assist in defining technology direction and process improvement to enable business strategy
- Support engineers and project managers in rapid development and deployment
- Actively participate in team and enterprise-wide architecture and engineering discussions
- Lead cross-functional team to drive peer reviews, gain consensus, and finalize proposed solutions with all stakeholders
- Introduce enterprise architectural paradigms and solutions into the portfolio
- Drive both high-level and detailed design and conduct design reviews
- Ensure the solution adheres to and supports the development of architecture principles, styles, patterns, and security standards for systems across the business, translating corporate strategy into technical strategy
- Engage and work with cross-functional leaders to understand and help define business principles, goals, and strategy within scope of responsibility
- Communicate and validate architecture with executive-level stakeholders, architects, and technologists
- Review legacy architecture, identify components strategically aligned for re-architecture, monitor technology usage for end-of-life cycle
- Mentor engineers and solution architects to ensure technology complexities are understood very clearly to implement solutions expeditiously with high quality
The Skills You Bring
- 5+ years of strong, hands-on experience in Java and backend middleware
- 3-5+ years of direct exposure to credit card processing
- Extensive experience in designing and implementing large scale platforms and applications with high resiliency, availability, reliability, and high throughput performance
- Experience with Cloud Computing with focus on AWS with any of the following; EC2, Lambda, ECS, EKS, Fargate, RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Kinesis, MSK, SQS, S3
- Strong written and verbal communication with presentation, leadership, problem solving, analytical, and collaboration skills including proven ability to influence without authority
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, or related field
- Preferred:
- Hands-on experience in the any of the following environments: JS, Kotlin, Node, Go, Vert.x, React, Envoy, gRPC, ProtoBuf, JSON, CouchBase, Cassandra, Redis, Jenkins, docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Drools, Elastic Stack, Kafka, Spark, ML
- Experience with micro services architectures and service mesh technologies
