The County of Riverside's Office on Aging (OoA) seeks to fill a Social Services Practitioner III position at Riverside, CA. Competitive candidates will be adaptable and flexible to fit customer needs. Field and home visits will be required as needed, throughout Riverside County.

The Riverside County Office on Aging facilitates workshops for family caregivers of older adults with dementia and other chronic illnesses and caregivers of older adults with mental health issues. The workshops are conducted at various community buildings in targeted areas including Metropolitan Riverside, Moreno Valley and the San Jacinto Valley. The format will provide an education emphasis in a support group atmosphere.

This position requires public speaking, instruction and facilitation of small groups. Additional responsibilities will include the creation of workshop curriculum from an array of resources and the development of presentation tools. The candidate for the project will engage in community outreach and awareness activities to promote and encourage participation in education workshops. Critical components of the position will include marketing, small group facilitation, follow-up, and support of clients with resources and referrals, as well as record keeping and documentation of the grant funded activities.

Hours may vary and flexibility needed for possible assignments on weekends and evenings.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience with the senior population or family caregivers of older adults or within the mental health system is desired.
• Capable of acquiring resources and information to create teaching modules.
• Ability to engage in public speaking, lecturing and conducting workshops.
• Demonstrates knowledge of community resources.
• Outreach and networking throughout targeted areas to promote workshop awareness and participation.
• Monitoring and evaluation for grant performance compliance.
• Ability to represent department at health fairs, public events and meetings.
• Experience with Power Point, Excel, Word and Zoom required.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Bilingual (Spanish) candidate preferred.
