The Social Media Specialist is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic organization at the heart of the cybersecurity industry. This role will be integral to the corporate communications content strategy by managing the execution of social media content from across the organization. This person will work with both the marketing and communications teams supporting their content and campaigns. They will oversee the (ISC)² presence on current platforms (Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn) as well as additional platforms as our social media presence grows, providing input into emerging platforms and researching channels ahead of launch.
Serving as equal parts “air traffic control” and social conversation manager, this person will ensure content is delivered on social channels appropriately in terms of audience targeting and social media best practices. This individual will also be responsible for drafting and scheduling posts, as well as responding to comments and messages across social media platforms – either directly or by triaging to correct internal contact.
Responsibilities:
- Writes original and engaging social media content for communications team, sharing blogs, press releases and other announcements or initiatives.
- Schedules and proofreads social media content from internal stakeholders.
- Answers – or relays – questions and comments received via social media inboxes.
- Develop and implement intake and process management system for social media content.
- Advise on best practices for volume, frequency and content developing guidelines for organization to follow across teams.
- Assists with major events such as (ISC)² Security Congress, supporting on-site social media.
- Assists with content publication across additional platforms (blog and website) as needed.
- Follows association style standards on all copy; proposes updates and improvements to documented standards.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to continually improve communications and uncover new topic areas to explore.
- Maintains internal social media reporting information, and creates monthly, quarterly and annual reports of performance, trends to note and changes to implement.
- Demonstrates commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications or a related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in social media (Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook)
- At least 3-5 years of experience writing and editing digital content
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in using the internet, web-based applications, and MS Office products, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
- Experience with social media management and reporting (Hootsuite preferred)
- Familiarity and experience with Discord a plus

Physical & Mental:
- Work normal business hours and extended hours when necessary
- 10% travel required
- Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods
- Regular use of office equipment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens
