Skilled Trades Worker (Asphalt)
Job description
SALARY
A CDL Supplemental Hourly Pay of $1.08 will be added to your salary once the CDL license is obtained.
This position is eligible for Hazardous Duty Supplemental Pay ($90/month)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to perform a variety of semiskilled duties in areas such as plumbing, asphalt, carpentry, electrical, painting, or plastering. Assists certified or licensed workers with their tasks.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Two (2) years of related experience
- Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education.
- Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs a variety of semiskilled duties in working with asphalt
- Assists certified or licensed workers with their tasks.
- Maintains, services, and conducts repairs on city roads
- Operates trucks and assorted power equipment.
- Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Valid Driver’s License; and, this position is required to obtain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B within the first six (6) months of employment and maintain the CDL as a condition of continued employment.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as assigned and on emergencies.
- Subject to call back during emergencies
- All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
