Working Shop Foreman

Physical Requirements:

Normal use of hands, fingers and limbs. Must possess the ability to bend, stoop and have the dexterity to work in confined places and in varying working positions including from prone or lying positions and overhead. Must possess the manual dexterity to work with common hand and power tools associated with the trade. Must also be capable of standing for extended time periods and possess the ability to lift or move objects weighing up to 75lbs. The ability to pass a DOT physical and drug test is a prerequisite of employment.

Essential Functions:

High level of competence and experience in diagnosis and repair of all vehicle systems including but not limited to:

• Perform Preventative Maintenance and DOT Inspection procedures and guidelines.
• Electrical systems to include: starting, charging, lighting, and the latest truck electrical systems in diagnosis and repair to TMC, Federal and Company standards.
• Diagnose and repair with all brake, steering, chassis, drive train, engine, cooling, Air Conditioning, tire and charging systems to TMC, Federal and Company standards.
• Diagnose and repair trailer structural failures, suspension systems, Hydraulic trailer dump systems, lighting, tire failure and replacements to TMC, Federal and Company standards.
• Basic Oxygen and Acetylene cutting and welding knowledge
• Willingness to learn and utilize our Maintenance Software program in its entirety for equipment maintenance history and warranty processing.

Administration Functions:

• General knowledge in all aspects of shop functionality for efficient operation
• Administratively manage electronic work orders approving labor operations, parts and material billing.
• Scheduling manpower for efficient operation to our customers

General Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of documented experience in maintenance and repair of heavy- duty class 8 trucks and trailers.
• Employee must provide individual hand and air tools required to perform repairs other than specialized repair and diagnostic equipment which is company provided
• Must possess adequate written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a willing team player capable of learning and following directions.
• Must have cab A/C certification
• Must be air brake certified
• At minimum have or be able to get a Class E License
