Shipping Associate

$2,500 Signing Bonus!*

As a Shipping Associate you will ensure efficient, safe, and professional picking, packaging, and loading of various orders throughout the day, and determine the best method of processing customer orders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensures efficient, safe, and professional packaging of various items and determines the best method of processing customer orders.
• Packages items as per customer requirements and creates shipping labels, identifying shipping information on cartons.
• Effectively communicates with all departments related to the task at hand for effective processing.
• Posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postage.
• Maintain excellent service by following organization standards of quality, and national standards of shipping best-practices.
• Ensures a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, packing area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Operates powered industrial trucks or uses hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
• Must feel comfortable after training on all hand tools, nail gun, circular, reciprocating and chop saws.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual.
• Ability to read and understand a tape measurer and/or ruler and demonstrate the ability to be accurate in these measurements.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and weigh in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to problem solve and work independently.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds or team lift up to 100 pounds.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to obtain powered industrial truck certification.

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, First Shift
