Description
The successful candidate will maintain control of the designated loading dock. The clerk ensures the dock is free of materials and debris. The clerk shall accept non-mail freight and parcels. These deliveries shall be staged (either in the office area or within the loading dock cage) by the clerk until customer pick up. The clerk shall notify customers within 2 hours of the delivery and shall log all deliveries, obtaining customer signature for the shipment upon pick-up.
Duties include:
- Independently perform a wide range of loading dock activities; to include: receiving, shipping, storing, and distributing non-mail parcels, freight, and bulk materials and equipment.
- Operate pallet jacks, dollies and other material handling equipment as required in the performance of this contract. All material handling equipment shall be provided by the contractor.
- Check incoming shipping documents to verify shipments are for the Government Agency.
- Inspect each parcel received at the facility. The clerk's role is limited to notifying the Agency Police of any suspicious, damaged, or tampered with packages.
- Notify the customer within 2 hours of package delivery. Perform follow-up notification every 24 hours until package is picked-up. Ensure that the customer signs for each package received as well as ensure the customer provides documentation of BSO15 funded purchases to include either a copy of the GPC Request (all pages) or a copy of the Contract (pages that show the contract number and the itemized materials and equipment list). After customer has signed packing slip acknowledging receipt, the clerk shall provide packing slips and contract documentation to the TPOC/COR on a daily basis. Maintain records necessary to show receipt of property on the designated loading dock and pick up by the ordering activity. These records can be manual or electronic. At no time, will Bluetooth or RFID capable equipment be permitted to enter the NMIC Facility.
- If the shipping/packing document identifies “Accountable” assets, the clerk shall notify the customer and Property Management. Accountable assets include the following type items: assets costing over $5,000, and pilferable assets (Camera’s, Camera Accessories, Hand Held Radios, Hand Held Scanners, CPU’s, Hard Drives, Binoculars, Night Vision Goggles, Video Camera’s, Smart Phones, Laptops, Metal Detectors, Hand Tools, GPS, Scopes, Walkie-Talkies). Property Management will work with the customer to capture information necessary for accounting for these assets.
- Store material and equipment in a safe and secure manner until customer retrieves product.
- When outgoing product is received, the customer shall coordinate pick up with the shipping company.
- Shall only open overhead doors for Agency announced deliveries.
- Remove cardboard and other recyclables and dispose of in a government supplied recycle bin.
- Keep loading dock clear, clean, presentable and broom swept.
- Maintain a clean, safe loading dock at the Government facility.
- Challenge employees that are exiting the loading dock with equipment (i.e. laptops, computers, servers, etc.). The clerk must ensure the employees exiting the Agency loading dock has proper documentation accompanying them to depart with equipment.
- Notify TPOC/COR anytime government owned facility/services present a safety hazard.
- Notify TPOC/COR anytime government provided workspace requires maintenance (i.e. Malfunctioning overhead doors, dock leveler).
- Provide weekly reports to the TPOC/COR and monthly reports to the Contracting Officer and TPOC/COR depicting work performed to include vendor shipments and quantities. Monthly reports shall be broken down stating which company (FEDEX, UPS, etc.) made deliveries and quantities of boxes and pallets delivered to Agency.
