New Castle Building Products (NCBP) is a family owned and operated distributor of building supplies based in White Plains, New York, serving the Northeastern United States with twenty plus convenient locations in six states. With a history dating back to 1910, New Castle has evolved from a small sheet metal distributor, to a full service distributor of building materials specializing in commercial and residential roofing.
Our location based in Norwalk is seeking a full time Sheet Metal Technician. The candidate will be proficient in the program and operation of CNC Sheet metal folding and shearing machines. Candidate must be proficient in soldering various metals, including copper, stainless steel, and galvanized steel. Primary responsibilities will include; programming of computerized metal fabricating equipment, fabrication of light gauge architectural sheet metal components, and training of junior staff members.
- Prior experience operating computerized metal folding and shearing machinery.
- Mechanically inclined individual who takes passion in their equipment and product.
- Superior customer service
- Basic mathematical skills
- Experience in the architectural, construction, or design industry
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
- Forklift certification is a plus, but not required
- Prior experience with sheet metal fabrication and metal roofing is a plus but not required
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player who has a sense of urgency and can work in a flexible environment.
Main Job Tasks & Requirements
- Operate sheet metal fabrication equipment to manufacture products for sale
- Work on various machinery in accordance with the daily work load
- Unload incoming deliveries utilizing a forklift truck
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and warehouse at all times
