PPNCSNJ has several new, exciting, open positions for experienced Sexual Health Educators throughout New Jersey. Sexual health educators design, develop, and deliver sexual health education and professional training programs on a wide range of sexual health topics to both small and large school and community-based audiences with diverse backgrounds, ages, identities, and learning styles. In addition to providing group education sessions, educators will provide 1:1 sessions that may include performing rapid HIV tests, assistance with Medicaid and Marketplace Insurance enrollment, and education and resource referral services for Covid-19 testing and vaccine services. Sexual health educators support particular grant-funded program(s) with specific deliverables and work as part of a collaborative, high-energy, cross-department team. We are currently seeking educators for projects based in Northern New Jersey, Southern NJ, and Mercer County.

IDEAL QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE

Ability to develop and implement educational programs for students, parent groups, community and other groups as assigned.

Ability to effectively develop and deliver professional training programs to healthcare, education, and youth-serving professionals.

Ability to effectively perform HIV/STI testing and provide counseling and referral services (training provided).

Experience conducting outreach activities, including but not limited to participating in health fairs and informing community members about sexual health and agency services.

Ability to meet requirements of educational grants and projects as appropriate.

Contributes to agency and department team efforts and projects.

Keeps current in the field of sexuality education.

Demonstrates ability to establish and positive working relationships.

Travels throughout the Affiliate’s service area as needed to cover community education programs, community events, represent the agency at coalition meetings, and to participate in department activities. Days, evenings and weekends as needed.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree, in Public Health, Health Education, Education or related field, or equivalent education and work experience.

A minimum of 2 years of experience providing health education, preferred.

CHES or ASSECT certification or in the process of obtaining certification is preferred.

Bilingual (Spanish/English), preferred
