POSITION SUMMARY

MEPPI is looking for a Service Sales Engineer with our High Voltage Switchgear Division (HVSD) to identify and develop HVSD Service sales opportunities for existing and new customers. In addition, the successful candidate will also prepare bids and close orders for service of High Voltage Switchgear Equipment and Generator Main Circuit Breakers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop relationships with new and existing partnership customers to build business with MEPPI by working with Company’s regional sales managers, manufacturers’ representatives, etc.
  • Present HVSD Service capabilities and offerings to customers. Work with customers to identify new business opportunities and advise HVSD Service on how to expand service offerings.
  • Prepare and submit company technical and commercial proposals for products/services in response to a customer’s RFQ.
  • Create hard copy and electronic proposal materials featuring technical and commercial content. Develop commercial terms review sheet and obtain approvals from appropriate stakeholders within MEPPI.
  • Calculate the company’s product, parts, and service costs. Recommend prices to support the company’s margin requirements and reflect the market price.
  • Identify new service offerings to sell to existing and new customers. Develop bid review presentation materials to hand out and display and organize proposal review meetings.
  • Work with Service Center of Excellence to support corporate objectives.
  • Confirm customer orders are consistent with the company proposal. Enter orders and turnover to Service Group. Identify all contract requirements, risk register items and customer commitments.
  • Conduct technical presentations to customers on company services and product offerings.
  • Support and assist the Service Manager, as necessary.
  • Further the goals and positive, professional image of the High Voltage Switchgear Division through interaction with other MEPPI divisions and vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with at least 3-5 years’ experience with selling technical products/services or hands on service of electrical/electronic/mechanical systems, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of negotiations techniques to assist in negotiating terms and conditions with customers.
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills required to communicate with customers, employees, and vendors.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills, with emphasis on MS Office products and business systems.
