Service Manager


Woods Machinery is seeking a Service Manager to join our team at our Bobcat of Central Jersey (Green Brook, NJ) location to support our customer base in the New Jersey/New York area.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the profitable operation of the service department while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Organize the efficient flow of work within the service department.
  • Direct shop and field technicians to ensure work is performed accurately in a safe and timely manner.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with customers throughout the repair process ensuring the customer is always well informed.
  • Create quotes for service work to be performed, recommend, and upsell additional service work noted by the technicians.
  • Communicate with the parts department the needs and time frame of parts required by technicians.
  • Ensure the proper documentation and communication of warranty related repairs to the warranty claims administrator.
  • Ensure all work orders are accurately converted to an invoice and communicated to the customer.
  • Address and resolve any customer concerns in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Support the continual training and development of technicians.
  • Provide internal service support to the sales and rental departments as well as external customers.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are enforced and all service tools and the shop area are well maintained and in safety compliance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Candidates possessing at least (3) three years of experience in Service Management with knowledge of diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic and diesel construction equipment, including - skid steer loaders, track loaders and excavators is preferred.
  • 2+ years experience as a Service Manager / Writer / Advisor experience at a dealership may be considered having strong experience with mechanical knowledge and ability to learn industry.
  • Extensive customer service background including excellent communication and sales skills along with strong follow up.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, organized, energetic, and capable of working under pressure.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail, organized and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professionally communicate with customers, co-workers, and managers.
  • Accurately document all work performed by the technicians.
  • Ability to work in a team or independently.
  • Pass background and drug screening.
  • Ability to work in an office / shop environment with exposure to outdoor weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, dirt, and noise.
