Sports Center Server
Reports to: Sports Center Manager
Classification: Full Time and Part Time Seasonal
Job Summary
Green Bay Country Club is hiring for a Server to provide excellent customer service and an enjoyable dining experience at the Sports Center Campus. In this job, you primarily take dining orders and execute the delivery of member and guests’ food and drinks. A successful Server will greet customers, learn and remember their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and serve. You will work closely with other front of house staff and the kitchen to ensure that each course is prepared properly and delivered in a timely fashion. You are also responsible for clearing the table when customers are finished and process their payment. Our ideal applicant has some restaurant experience or has been a host/hostess, food server, or barista, but we are willing to train the right person. Servers may also be asked to assist with big and small club events that take place at the Pool Deck.

- Following proper food and liquor handling procedures
- Maintaining complete working knowledge of the sports center pool deck layout, including server sections and cabanas
- Accurately record and account for all items ordered, process payments, and balance your end of shift sales/receipts in compliance with restaurant policies and procedures
- Accountable for checks and cash transactions. Utilizes Point of Sales System
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with all coworkers and management as well as complete checklists on all trained processes learned in GBCC onboarding and raining
- Positively influence members’ and guests’ experience by elevating the dining experience with food and drink pairing options
- Discussing specials to drive sales through consistent and approachable communication with the highest level of service in accordance with GBCC Standards
- Maintain communication and advise Management and the Executive Chef on any allergies or potential red flags encountered throughout the day to mitigate risk
- Complete all check out reports at the end of each shift and have it double checked and signed by management
- Adhere to health and safety policies as well as all company policies, procedures, standards and local, state, and federal law as applicable
- Accommodate special requests from guests or offer an alternative solution that better suits business needs
- Ensure food orders are finished being plated and coursed out correctly before appropriately serving to members/guests
- Assist runners and bussers when possible with expo and service bar tickets to support all table orders
- Clean and stock server alley and bar area, polish silverware, plates and/or glassware as needed
- Educate themselves about the menu, with the ability to make suggestions when asked by members and/or guests.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Minimum of 1+ years’ experience in similar capacity
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments and maintain calm through quick and effective problem solving under pressure
- Must be hospitable, approachable, passionate about customer service, and respectful towards colleagues and guests
- Must be able to demonstrate competency as outlined in the onboarding & training schedule
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Ability to take direction, work in a team environment and autonomously
- POS knowledge
Education and/or Experience
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Able to move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work in a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels
- Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven or slick surfaces.
