At Ramboll, Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) is an important part of the Green Energy Transition and CCUS is defined as an area of strategic importance for us. Over the last two years our business in this area has expanded significantly and currently we are the market leader in the Nordics within independent Carbon Capture engineering and consultancy. To support and accelerate our expansion within this area we have decided to establish a dedicated Center of Competence. In addition, we have a growing need to expand these services to the Americas market

Many Energy from Waste (EFW) facilities in Europe are currently considering the introduction of Carbon Capture projects and to support this development the Competence Center has been vested in our successful Energy from Waste (EFW) division. Our Energy from Waste team is recognized as the leading consultant in the world in this industry. The team is truly international and provides consulting engineering and design services worldwide out of offices in Copenhagen, Harwell, Zurich, Singapore and Perth.

As a senior consultant in our Carbon Capture Center of Competence you will be managing own Carbon Capture projects – and supporting the management of projects lead by other departments. An important part of the role of the Center is to act as a “Thought Leader” – internally and externally - within the area.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • To solve distinctive, complex and challenging technical or business issues for clients within the Carbon Capture sphere.
  • To act as a senior consultant within the area and support the center’s position as thought leader in- and outside of Ramboll.
  • To deliver project management including planning, organising, and controlling resources/ processes to achieve project objectives within scope, time, quality and budget.
  • To engage in business development work when required.

  • A PhD or MSc degree within a relevant scientific/technical/ engineering field;
  • Strong technical acumen, professional experience and relevant domain knowledge in carbon capture processes;
  • Hands-on experience of energy and chemical modeling tools, such as Aspen, Promax or Thermoflex
  • This is a client-facing role and experience and comfort communicating with the client is essential to this position.
  • Relevant work experience from a Carbon Capture technology vendor or engineering company
  • Project management experience from a similar role;
  • Good at managing ambiguity, opportunities and risks;
  • Customer-oriented and are characterized by a self-reliant, reliable and structured way of working;
  • Intercultural competence and international experience;
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written and an ability to communicate effectively with various level of management within the company and with potential clients, suppliers, subcontractors and partners;
