ROLE: Talend lead developer(Remote)

This is a remote position open to any qualified applicant in the United States and Canada.

Qualification:
Bachelors in Science , engineering or equivalent

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $[95,000– 120,000] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.

Job summary: Talend Developer

Experience: 7 to 12yrs

Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for full life-cycle software development, including requirements gathering, software design, implementation, testing and deployment.
• Design and develop reusable talend framework for Big data solution.
• Design and develop shared routines.
• Build high performing and scalable data pipeline platform using Talend, Hadoop, Apache Spark and Amazon S3 based object storage architecture.
• Define ETL best practices and development framework
• Technical project leadership, focus on practical & effective Design & Development.
• Listen to and interpret what the business wants to see accomplished, discuss details in an easy-to-understand way, and then translate it all into nuts-and-bolts technical output.
• Will be responsible for designing and creating reusable generic parameterized extraction, transformation and load pipelines.
• Must test their designs to ensure the system runs smoothly.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or relevant field
• Minimum 5-6 years' experience in Talend Big data edition.
• Expertise in design and development of DI & Big data jobs within Talend.
• Knowledge of Cloudera/Mapr distribution, Hive, hbase & Salesforce CRM.
• Experience working on Redshift, S3 and AWS cloud
• Design and development experience with columnar databases using Parquet or ORC file formats on Hadoop
• Experience in creating tables, partitioning, bucketing, loading and aggregating data using Spark SQL/Scala
• Experience in Hadoop ecosystem tools for real-time or batch data ingestion
• Apache Spark design and development experience using Scala, Java, Python or Data Frames with Resilient Distributed Datasets (RDDs)
• Knowledge of Spark SQL with various data sources like JSON, Parquet and Key Value Pair.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge of project management methodologies: used in waterfall or Agile development projects
• Basic knowledge of DevOps principles
