Duties & Responsibilities:

• Leading or supporting R&D projects and R&D work streams, providing R&D engineering expertise. Often represents the most senior technical engineer on projects and requires minimal guidance/oversight to perform duties expected.
• Processing engineering and computational analysis such as material/energy balances, costing analysis
• Technical knowledge transfer and training on deployed projects and improvements.
• Technology exploration (research) and feasibility analysis on new opportunities and ideas.
• Coordination and execution of lab, plant, process, and equipment experiments and trials.
• Generating technical reports and presenting results and recommendations to project/business leadership.
• Technical support on minor issues or non-project customer-focused needs.
• Member of the safety team; supporting waste handling, chemical inventory documentation, chemical ordering and miscellaneous tasks required for the safe operation of the facility.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• BS in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum five years of industrial experience in research and development, preferably associated to manufacturing, operations, and process and product ROI (return on investment) projects.
• Strong acumen with project management processes, stage gate methodology, and agile/innovation approaches.
• Knowledge with IP (intellectual property) management
• Strong proficiency and execution with fundamental R&D engineering skills including thermodynamics, separations, unit operations, computational analysis, and process flow design and modeling.
• Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
• Safety mindset/champion, including environmental and people/employee safety.

Salary Range: $90-125,000 depending on experience
