We are looking for a dynamic leader to join our team as a Senior Quality Engineer!

Where we are located: Our facility is located in Hopkinsville, KY. This area is a great location for commuters and residents of the Nashville, TN and Clarksville, TN areas. We also have manufacturing facilities located in Shelbyville, Indiana and Monterrey, Mexico. Our Corporate Headquarters reside in Adrian, Michigan.

What the position entails: As a member of the Brazeway Quality Team, the person in this role is responsible for applying appropriate engineering and manufacturing technology to improve existing processes in the areas of quality, productivity and cost reduction. The team member will also be a key player in monitoring the Quality System to assure total compliance with the Quality Plan.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Act as a technical resource for manufacturing by providing a quality expertise to assist with the development of APQP documentation. This includes, but is not limited to, control plans, PFMEAs, flow charts, and inspection plans.
  • Support manufacturing in achieving quality and policy deployment goals.
  • Actively participate and assist manufacturing to ensure quality requirements are in compliance in daily operations.
  • Investigate customer concerns, develop containment activities, and coach 8D team in the implementation of both process and system countermeasures as applicable. Ensure satisfactory completion of 8D documentation prior to submission to the customer.
  • Use a combination of Quality and Six Sigma tools to ensure quality requirements are in compliance to industry standards, ISO 9001/TS16949:2015, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Manage action plans for quality and continuous improvement activities.
  • Actively supports and manages within Brazeway’s mission, vision, Code of Conduct, and Process Based Leadership guidelines.
  • Actively supports our 5S + Safety programs.
  • Support customer relationships with travel as needed.

What a candidate must have to be qualified for the role:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Degree
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred
  • Basic knowledge of traditional quality tools such as SPC, capability analysis, MSA, 5-Why, PPAP and common gauging practices.
  • Demonstrate effective usage of advanced problem-solving skills. Proven ability to lead teams in effective problem solving.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong project management and planning abilities.
  • Demonstrated discipline and consistency regarding adherence to established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Good written and oral communication skills to independently prepare and deliver presentations.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
  • PC application skills including Microsoft Office, MiniTab.
  • Strong commitment to a team environment.
