It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work remotely for three (3) or more days a week and will share a hoteling workspace when working onsite. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.
Summary of the Job:

The Sr Tester role will be responsible for testing software applications with a focus on quality and reliability. The Sr Tester will work closely with their agile team and participate in agile ceremonies, contribute to developing acceptance criteria, create test cases and test scripts needed for successful execution of functional tests. In addition, the role is responsible for ensuring that quality issues are appropriately identified, documented, tracked, and resolved prior to release. Lead and advise in highly technical and complex testing of application functions and features.

  • Display a strong understanding of Agile QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Apply Quality Engineering principles throughout the Agile lifecycle
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of application testing within the agile development
  • Evangelize and drive ‘Quality as a Team Mindset’ within the team
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and others in QA best practices
  • Utilize strong problem solving and communication skills
  • Exhibit expert knowledge across supported applications
  • Execute all levels of testing (System, Integration, and Regression)
  • Decompose stories/business requirements into test cases that clearly articulate test objectives, steps, and expected results
  • Develop and maintain a regression testing strategy for supported applications
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, coordinate/perform and document results of test execution
  • Help enable and drive team to conduct regular test case peer reviews
  • Report, track, and retest defects prior to release
  • Drive consistent improvement and knowledge sharing principles across the team
  • Exhibit knowledge in multiple testing techniques and approaches
  • Drive automation initiatives partnering with automation engineers
  • Lead major projects and initiatives within team independently or as a group
The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related discipline or equivalent experience is required
  • Strong understanding in banking, payments or financial institutions is a plus
  • 5+ years’ experience with Manual Testing and User Acceptance testing techniques
  • 5+ years’ experience supporting core credit card processing is a plus
  • 5+ years’ experience in business analysis or a related field is a plus
  • Experience working in Agile environment and Kanban or Scrum framework
  • Experience working with testing automation is a plus
  • Strong communication, facilitation, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
