SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER, Mechanical Engineering-Center for Additive and Digital Advanced Production Technologies (APT), to join a center that aims to accelerate the implementation of additive manufacturing and invent its future. Will perform comprehensive programmatic, business development, and authorial responsibilities for APT; oversee two new state-of-the-art additive manufacturing facilities on campus that the APT Center is launching; and support a variety of initiatives led by Professor John Hart in collaboration with the Laboratory for Manufacturing and Productivity and the Manufacturing@MIT Working Group. Will also fundraise and oversee new staff as the program grows (including an events and marketing coordinator and technical and administrative personnel), author job descriptions, interview candidates along with Professor Hart, and supervise their daily work.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree; at least five years’ program management administration, operations, and strategy experience; advanced-level knowledge of the additive and digital manufacturing industries, including process technologies, materials, applications, economic modeling, and business case analysis; experience developing and delivering professional training curriculum on additive and digital manufacturing and formulating and writing large proposals to public and private sponsors; experience and comfort working with stakeholders in academia, industry, and the public sector, including faculty, researchers, executives, and leaders; excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple objectives/tasks, meet competing deadlines under pressure, and work as part of a larger team; skill using Microsoft Office, Photoshop/Illustrator, and WordPress and willingness to learn new software; discretion and judgment with confidential issues/information; and ability to lift weights of up to 50 lbs.
