Job Summary
A Senior Product Owner supports our product direction and strategies by directing the efforts of an assigned development team. They operate within an Agile team and work directly with the Product Manager to convey product vision, strategy and direction to the team of developers, designers and QA testers. At Paycor, we see the role of a Product Owner as a critical part of our Agile teams. Our highly skilled POs are the valued execution arm that drive delivery of our product strategies. They’re the primary communication channel between the business stakeholders and the delivery teams that design, build, and test the products. To be successful in this role, the Senior Product Owner will be a driver on our most complex projects. They will use their clear communication skills to understand our business opportunities, translate those into a groomed and workable backlog, and shepherd the efforts of the development team. The Senior Product Owner will also be the team’s decision maker ahead of development work and also within the sprint. By understanding business value, they can navigate and clearly articulate tradeoffs and difficult decisions. They must have a clear point of view in order to communicate to the development team with confidence and clarity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Product Manager to inspect and create epics, features and stories for the product backlog
- Create clear and concise acceptance criteria for user stories in the backlog
- Lead design and delivery of I2C solutions with a focus on usage collection and mediation, invoice processing and payment processing
- Understand and translate problems faced by I2C stakeholders in business cases, epics and product backlog items
- Maintain current expertise by remaining current on relevant technologies (e.g. Zuora) and I2C trends and insights
- Act as the go-to-person for answering questions the team has about business rules and product behaviors
- Communicate team deliverables and sprint outcomes to stakeholders
- Lead and facilitate short-term and long-range grooming sessions with the development team
- Be a champion for the product direction and vision during product planning and throughout the life of the project
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science or Information Systems
- 5+ years of experience with identifying business requirements and implementing new solutions and substantial system enhancements
- 2+ years of experience operating in a Product Owner capacity within an Agile team
- Demonstrable ability to operate Agile Project Management software (Jira, Rally, etc)
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- A proven ability to work collaboratively with others to drive product development projects to completion within an Agile framework

We also offer competitive compensation determined by each individual's relevant experience, skills, and education. We anticipate the base pay for this position to be between $64,680.00-$110424.00. In addition to base pay, Paycor Associates are eligible for either a performance-based annual bonus or commission, depending on their position.
