FIS is seeking a Senior Network Engineer CCNP to assist us in the transformation of network services at FIS.

About the Team

Throughout the last five years, the Network Architecture team at FIS lead the first waves of the most significant transformation of the FIS global network architecture, design, and deployment in the history of FIS. We have identified the most important things that needed to be changed, we have educated senior leadership as to the need for change, we have gained their support for many impactful and costly changes, we have executed the changes, and the FIS network is relatively more stable and more standardized that it was before. But we still have a long way to go.

What You Will Be Doing

The role of the senior network analyst is broad and multi-faceted, and you will have an active leadership and delivery role a wide range of activities. You will help us:

• Performs device configurations, internal operating system upgrades and software upgrades and deploys network devices including routers, switches, load balancers and firewalls.
• Develops and follows documented network services processes and procedures – identifies gaps in processes or documentation and suggests improvements.
• Monitors, responds and provides resolution for network incidents.
• Responds to customer requests and completes assignments in a timely manner with high quality.
• Troubleshoots network problems and recommends corrective procedures.
• Identifies opportunities to improve workflow and creates supporting documentation for review by peers and management.
• Defines and develops workflow orchestration and automation for network event, incident, performance and change management.
• Maintains network services documentation.

What you bring

• Knowledge of the financial services industry.
• Knowledge of how and why the financial services industry uses infrastructure technology.
• Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline or related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
• Knowledge of network technologies, i.e., routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, network and routing protocols, DNS
• A deep understanding of the theory of operations with practical design, implementation and support experience for the following example protocols across a variety of manufacturers and products – OSPF, BGP, MPLS, transparent bridging, spanning tree, fabric path, trunking, channeling, traffic engineering, server load balancing, GSLB.
• Working knowledge of application development methodologies, CI/CD tools, orchestration and automation tools and languages.
• Knowledge of basic IT technologies, i.e., operating systems, network devices, software development and architecture
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors.
• Willingly shares relevant knowledge and expertise with other resources.
• Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take.
• Ability to identify needs and take the initiative to develop solutions.
• Work independently or as a contributing member of a group.
• More than 10 years of hands-on and thought-leadership responsibilities in large and complex networks.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, interpersonal, team, customer service, negotiation, conflict management, and time management skills.
