Our Senior Manager Analytics & Merchandising is a passionate and analytical individual who will be a key driver of the North America digital business in partnership with global digital leaders. This role will impact organizational success, visibility to senior leadership, and allow for strong growth potential. This person should have a consumer-centric mindset and be able to partner effectively across various levels of the organization. The ideal candidate is a strategic, big picture thinker with a strong understanding of the details to lead a team of digital merchandisers. They will have a strong aptitude to analyze data, ecommerce trends, consumer behavior, identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs), and the ability to identify areas for improvement and proactively drive change. They are intrinsically motived, have a strong grasp on the needs of our riders and can influence an organization and clearly demonstrate quantifiable value propositions.
This position reports to the North American eCommerce Director and is a hybrid position working 3 days from the office in Irvine, CA and 2 days from home your home office.
As the Senior Manager of Analytics and Merchandising, you will have an opportunity to:
- Lead the charge for defining the consumer analytics strategy and execution across all our consumer facing channels and brands.
- Ensure customer and consumer data is being captured accurately, governed to preserve integrity, and reported with actionable insights.
- Stitch together the customer profile and journey across different online and owned retail sources.
- Collaborate cross functionally across the business unit, sales, digital marketing, digital design, IT, and CRM and retention to define our consumer profiles and KPIs to understand rider awareness, engagement, and lifecycle health.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to establish KPIs and develop clear, consumable reporting. Help partners flesh out questions, diving deeper and presenting findings at the appropriate level of granularity and detail.
- Develop and execute strategy for annual, seasonal, and monthly merchandise plans for categories in collaboration with Planning and Product teams to support revenue and brand growth, achieve gross margin targets, and manage inventory to optimize the core and seasonal product investments.
- Cultivate a nuanced understanding of digital data and lead research to uncover the questions we don’t know we should be asking, both for our business and products.
- Own, develop, and implement demand forecasting strategies for digital channels considering analysis of sales trends, seasonality, and promotional activities to accurately forecast demand and determine inventory requirements.
- Partner with S&OP team to optimize inventory and ensure digital inventory needs are met and adjusted as need.
- Explore new ways of executing processes to expand capabilities within the digital business.
- Take an answers-first approach to data visibility; understand what data is needed to support business function objectives. Utilize data analytics and test & learn to drive actionable insights for the ecommerce team.
- Build, maintain, and communicate metrics and dashboards to measure business performance.
- Develop roadmap of data needs and improvements based on the evolving needs of the business.
- Identify trends and patterns from data, pursue statistical data analysis, and provide attribution of metrics movement.
- Provide actional insights to drive the growth of business and improvement of operational efficiency.
- Work directly with the executive team to analyze and develop business case analysis for new strategic projects.
- Lead the Merchandising and cross-functional analytics team in driving sales, growth, and margin results, supporting financial and brand objectives based on a thorough understanding of our rider and the market. Lead the team in creating and executing seasonal category strategies which incorporate data insights, consumer feedback and competitive and financial analysis.
- Develop and execute the ecommerce merchandising strategy including product assortment, pricing, promotions, and merchandising with a focus on sell-through, new product launches and execution for the digital business.
- Manage and develop the merchandising team to achieve goals through analytical insight, strategy, execution, and collaboration across business teams.
- Develop and monitor KPIs to track product performance, including sales, margins, and customer satisfaction.
- Use data and consumer insights to inform product selection decisions, including analyzing sales trends, consumer feedback, and market research.
- Analyze consumer feedback and product performance to define and improve product category strategies, product assortments, and pricing opportunities.
- Work closely with the product development team to identify new product opportunities and provide input on product development and product pricing decisions. Monitor competitor activity and industry trends to inform product selection and merchandising decisions.
- Work closely with the ecommerce and technology teams to ensure the product selection and merchandising strategy is optimized for performance, scalability, and customer experience.
You have:
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in ecommerce, retail merchandising or analytics.
- Bachelor’s degree or above, majoring in relative field of study.
- 3+ years of team management experience.
- Ecommerce or online marketplace experience is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of paid, organic and/or retention marketing best practices.
- Master of MS Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in analytics and business tools including but not limited to Google Analytics, Demand Forecasting, Management & Planning, Inventory Management & Planning, Data Analysis, SAP ERP, Statistical Data Analysis.
- Proven history of developing channel-level and customer-level reports with actionable insights on KPIs including but not limited to LTV Analyses, Customer Cohort Analyses and Channel Attribution.
- Track record of taking data from disparate sources and creating centralized reporting schemas and tables that can be used to power analyses and data visualizations.
- Proficient in SQL and understanding relational databases.
- Ability to automate processes, scripts, and models (via Python or other languages) a plus.
- Proficiency with cloud database platforms such as Snowflake, Azure, and AWS a plus.
- Ability to identify, manage and make sound recommendations to peers and management.
- Should be a motivated self-starter, process-oriented with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexible to accommodate demanding projects schedules.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Merchandising/Analytics/Forecast Planning experience associated with a national-level retailer.
- Practiced in the basics of full-lifecycle product management.
- Understanding of retail industry and related retail channels.
Pay Range:
$107,500.00 - $168,100.00
