The Senior Managed Care Data Analyst leads advanced statistical data analysis to the Managed Care Department, as well as finance and operations. This role works is responsible for mentoring other analysts, preparing, and communicating results and working with cross-functional groups to define and produce complex reports analyzing clinical, financial, and operational performance related to health plan contracts.

What You Will Do – Top Priorities

  • Provide advanced analytical expertise for business operations in the following areas: claims, provider data, member data, clinical data, HEDIS, pharmacy, external reporting
  • Review data to determine operational impacts and needed actions; elevate issues, trends, areas for improvement and opportunities to management
  • Analyze EMR, payor, and other data to answer questions about cost & quality of managed care plans
  • Extract, manipulate and analyze large data sets to draw and communicate relevant conclusions about organizational performance on metrics of cost, utilization, and care outcomes
  • Lead complex data projects and makes assumptions driven by data
  • Work with reporting department to develop data extracts to meet specifications
  • Creates, develops, and maintains reports, datasets, ad hoc requests, dashboards, metrics, data generators, etc. for end-users using system tools and databases
  • Produce actionable reports that show key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement, and display root cause analysis of problems.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required, master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a role focused on healthcare data and/or statistical analysis
  • Minimum 2 years of Managed Care experience in a data analytic role within healthcare (payer, provider, consulting) working with claims data and statistical analysis
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with claims data
  • Proven experience with granular data analysis, predictive analytics or analytics technology products.
  • Experience with EHR, including reporting (EPIC preferred)
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office required; advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Advanced knowledge of Enterprise Reporting and Analysis tools, SQL, and visual analytic applications preferred
