Department Overview
Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers and responsible for all aspects of PG&E’s gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response. LNG/CNG Engineering and Operations department specifically is responsible for areas related to portable natural gas and natural gas vehicle fueling stations as the asset owner for 32 natural gas vehicle stations throughout the service territory and various sized liquified natural gas (LNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) portable assets to support planned and unplanned gas outage. In addition, LNG/CNG E&O owns LNG/CNG portable asset, mobile CNG stations, cross compressors, generators, odorizers, and flares used to support planned and unplanned projects in Gas Operations.

Position Summary
Provides technical expertise for the operation and maintenance of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG)/Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Engineering and Operations assets. Supports the high priority work of identifying and reducing risk, improving equipment performance and reliability, performing condition assessments, troubleshooting, and resolving equipment problems. Develops training guidance for assets and provide subject matter expert (SME) support on assets.

Location is flexible within the PG&E Service Territory, please note hiring leader will make final decision of what are appropriate headquarters for the role based on business need.

Position will require up to 60% of travel time in work schedule.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

This position is a DOT (Department of Transportation) covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. ​

A reasonable salary range is: ​
Bay Area Minimum: $98,000
Bay Area Maximum: $146,000
&/OR
California Minimum: $93,000
California Maximum: $139,000

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Job Responsibilities
Ensures all LNG/CNG work incorporates industry best practices with an emphasis on safety and compliance while ensuring a reliable and cost-effective end-result.
Works with limited guidance to assist and collaborate with the field personnel to investigate, troubleshoot, research, diagnose, and resolve moderate to complex equipment or system problem while providing a new perspective on existing solutions.
Supports the creation of custom training materials in PG&E specific LNG/CNG assets for implementation department wide
Supports M&O field personnel to achieve full compliance with pipeline, NEC, NFPA, CFC and other applicable safety codes and regulations
May guide the work of less experienced employees
May manage projects or initiatives .
Stand on-call for odor fade incidents during off-hours

Qualifications-

Minimum:
High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
5 years of relevant experience in natural gas including LNG or CNG portable or station experience
CA Class C License, or equivalent

Desired:
Bachelor’s Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
Experience at PG&E
7 years of relevant experience in natural gas including odorization experience.
