Plains All American is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing and marketing solutions for crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). We own an extensive network of pipeline transportation, terminalling, storage and gathering assets in key crude oil and NGL producing basins and transportation corridors and at major market hubs in the United States and Canada. Job Purpose/Summary:
The Investor Relations (“IR”) Senior Analyst position is a strategic role that integrates finance, communications, marketing, and securities law compliance to enable effective two-way communication with the financial community. The goal is to help articulate the Plains value proposition to investors and build supporting materials in an effort to achieve fair valuation of Plains debt and equity securities and maintain appropriate access to the capital markets on attractive terms. The IR Analyst plays a critical role for the organization, working closely with members of senior and executive management to develop analysis and materials to help represent the company to investors and analysts, explain the market’s perception of and outlook on Plains to inform strategic decision making. The role includes generating presentation materials for quarterly earnings, sell-side conferences, investor office visits, one-on-one meetings, group dinners, asset tours, equity and fixed income research meetings, and Investor Days.

Prepare analytical materials for Executive management and IR team members who communicate with investors / analysts (ranging from conference calls to marquee events)

Support in the development of external and internal presentation materials for variety of audiences (i.e. investors, research analysts, Plains’ Board & Management, and others)

Help create and maintain Plains’ IR materials, including:

Presentations & press releases

Quarterly earnings materials

Top holder and investor targeting analysis

Relative valuation and equity/debt performance analysis

Evaluation of sell-side research published about Plains & the industry

Surveillance of peer / customer disclosures and news

IR website

Analysis

Analyze various market conditions, earnings, and performance, summarize findings and share with Executive team and IR team members.

Prepare internal materials (macro fundamental data, asset maps, industry and peer company data) for appropriate use in public company presentations / conference calls, media relations and press releases

Ensure accuracy of information in presentation materials

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Ensure alignment with Communications/Government Relations functions along with over-arching team goals

Work to reinforce IR function and broader company goals (Business Development / M&A / Fundamentals / Planning / Financial Reporting, Operations, Engineering, Legal, etc.)

Comply with SEC regulations governing IR communications, esp. Regulation Fair Disclosure (“Reg-FD”)

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
-
BBA in finance, accounting, economics, business or related discipline

Minimum of 2 years of experience in the energy sector with financial emphasis
-
Knowledge of the midstream oil & gas sector, MLP asset class, and investor relations function

Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills

Strong written and verbal communications skills

Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills

Team player who is proactive in observing, seeking out and filling the needs of the organization

Work ethic centered on maintaining a keen attention to detail through the full completion of a work product

Ability to perform under pressure / work under tight deadlines with high levels of accuracy

High personal integrity and strong relationship building skills

Ability to work nonstandard business hours as needed

Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks

Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.
