Job Summary
This role is primarily responsible for the income tax accounting and reporting process for the US group of a FTSE 100 company, including the financial audit of the tax provision and cash tax forecasts. Additionally, the role will be responsible for assisting with complex book/tax calculations while seeking to further improve efficiency. This role will interact with colleagues in various functions within the US and the UK as well as our external audit firm.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare income tax reporting packages on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Prepare reconciliations of monthly cash tax movements against planned/forecasted amounts
- Prepare detailed reconciliations, including current and deferred tax rollforward schedules and proof of tax accounts
- Prepare quarterly tax forecasts for federal, state, and local estimated tax calculations
- Prepare or review book/tax difference calculations as assigned, including tax impact of mergers and acquisitions
- Prepare provision to return reconciliations and related journal entries based on presentation required for IFRS
- Manage reports and calculations maintained in tax software applications
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, efficiency gains and application of tax process and technology best practices by using new and existing technologies
- Assist with federal & state income tax compliance as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Tax required; Master’s degree required
- CPA required
- 5+ years of progressive corporate income tax experience in public accounting and/or large corporate tax department, including knowledge of ASC 740 and/or IAS 12 (accounting for income taxes)
- Excellent analytical, technical, tax and accounting skills
- Experience using both tax compliance software and ERP systems
- Ability to independently research issues and document conclusions
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage large amounts of data
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and be a team player
- Ability to work effectively under pressure of tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Must be able to work extended hours as needed to meet internal and external deadlines
