Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Director of FP&A. This role will collaborate across all functional areas of the business constructively and efficiently, within a scaling and fast-paced, environment and will be responsible for delivering value-added business analysis, meaningful financial/operational metrics that lead to insightful, accurate business decision making and support month end close activities. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter, able to prioritize tasks, has excellent communication skills, experience working in a (SaaS) start-up environment and has a good understanding of accounting and finance principles.
Specific Responsibilities:
Serve as a trusted, finance business partner who adds value by providing accurate, timely, and pertinent financial insights. Support timely and accurate month end processes and provide forward looking financial guidance, analysis, and reporting to the CDS leadership team.
Help implement robust procedures that can scale with the growth of the company and provide data and insights in support of financial statements, measurements, forecasts, plans, and business analysis. Support continuous improvement projects and able support this fast-growing business with clear communication skills.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Prepare monthly and quarterly review package including key financial metrics and performance indicators.
- Supports monthly and quarterly Actuals and Forecasting process, providing actionable insights to the leadership team to ensure financial targets are met.
- Help drive finance discipline, fact-based decision-making, and financial visibility. Perform financial analytics in support of business decisions including balance sheet and cash flow forecasting.
- Work closely with all business teams to improve key metrics and reduce variances to budget and forecasts, support the Director of FP&A with improving the pricing and discount rigor as well as sales compensation plans and sales commission calculations.
- Help prepare the Annual Operating Plan and support the annual 3-year Strategic Plan.
- Implement financials tools, reporting mechanisms, business modeling and financial planning processes that will effectively support scaling the growth of the business and will provide actionable insights.
- Help with the implementation of a new ERP system, NetSuite, that will support the needs of the business as it continues to grow and scale.
- Operate at multiple altitudes - have in-depth knowledge of the business and key drivers and at the same time be able to tell the story of the financial results.
- Closely work together with our Shared Services organization (DBS) to ensure monthly results are accurate and complete.
Background Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
- At least 5 years of relevant financial analysis experience, preferably within Software or Digital Products Industries.
- Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate across functions.
- Expert-user of Excel and the Microsoft Office suite; experience with NetSuite and PowerBI is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Enjoys a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong organizational skills and work ethic.
