Moog is a worldwide designer, manufacturer and systems integrator of motion and fluid controls systems for a broad range of applications in aerospace, defense, and industrial markets.

Important Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate proficiently two or more different types of manual or CNC lathe machines such as: Profiling, Hones, Gleason Reciprocators, Gleason Generators, Milling Turning, Drilling and Grinding, producing quality production hardware.
  • Plan sequence of operation using available tooling or improving tooling.
  • Perform a complete range of operations on all types of materials on Okuma lathe
  • Meet production time standards on work assignments.
  • Perform set-ups and all other machinist level functions.
  • Operate machines outside your area of expertise and to deburr parts.
  • Participate in the planning of work within the Cell and to help occurring within the Cell.
  • Inspect all work performed; detect unusual conditions, defective materials, and deviate parts; and recognize errors in blueprints and operation sheets.
  • Apply good knowledge of practical shop mathematics.
  • Use different shop measuring instruments for setting up and checking work, including comparator charts for first piece buy-off and in-process monitoring of hardware.
  • Perform block checks on NC or CNC machines and detect errors in tapes to prevent scrap.
  • Assist NC Programming Department using edits to resolve errors promptly.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED or formal training equivalency
  • 10 years or more of lathe machining experience
  • Must be able to use multiple measuring equipment such as Micrometers, Calipers, and Dial Bore Gauges.
  • CNC experience with Geometric Tolerances (GD&T) and extreme close tolerances, typically .001 +/- .005.
  • This position require access to export controlled information.

  • 7 and 9 axis
  • Voumard, Okuma GA-26, Center Lap
  • CNC 3 abd 4 axis milling
  • CNC multi turret and spindle turning centers
  • Okuma 3 and 4 axis CNC mills, Okuma CNC lathes and turning centers
  • Gleason gear shapers and hobs
