Advertised Job Summary
The Senior Assistant Director for In-State Recruitment is responsible for developing and leading strategic recruitment initiatives designed to attract competitive South Carolina residents to the university, in addition to promoting access and accessibility for in-state students. The Senior Assistant Director provides ongoing supervision and training for 3 Assistant Directors who are each responsible for an in-state recruitment territory alongside their supervisory duties; indirect supervision of 4 campus-based full-time staff, 1-2 temporary regional recruiters, and student interns/employees.
The Senior Assistant Director is responsible for the in-state recruitment budget and accurate data-tracking for reporting purposes. Additionally, the Senior Assistant Director oversees office coverage, information sessions, and the Admissions’ visitor meeting process. As a member of the Undergraduate Admissions management team, the Senior Assistant Director participates in making strategic and tactical decisions for office. They also represent the university at on- and off-campus recruitment events and review applicants for admission to the university.
This position requires some infrequent seasonal travel and some evening and weekend work. This position has the potential for hybrid or remote work dependent on the needs of the department.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Prefer experience with increasing levels of responsibility in college or university admissions. Experience using Ellucian Banner student information system, Technolutions Slate, College Board EPS, ACT EIS, Microsoft Access, and Cognos reporting is preferred. Previous supervisory experience of full-time employees is strongly desired. Previous South Carolina recruitment experience and knowledge of the South Carolina market is a plus.
