JOB PURPOSE: Wingate Living, a privately-owned provider of senior living facilities in MA, and RI, is searching for a Senior Accountant to join the Finance team. This a pre-MBA position where the individual will be exposed to multiple aspects of the business including financial statement preparation, budgeting, financial planning and analysis. We are looking for a critical thinker with a strong interest in both finance and healthcare. The position will be based in our Needham corporate office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary responsibility is to prepare financial statements for a set group of communities, and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule.
- Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures.
- Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations and schedules.
- Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances.
- Assist with annual budgets.
- Assist with year-end audits.
- Assist with preparing State and Federal cost reports.
- Assist with Town/City Forms of Lists and other regulatory filings.
- Assist with Sales Tax filings and audits.
- Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls.
- Assist with lender reporting and covenant calculations.
- Assist with mentoring staff accountants.
- Other projects and ad hoc reporting as requested.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting.
- Strong understanding of accounting theory.
- 3-5+ years of accounting/finance experience; CPA a plus but not required.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL, MatrixCare, FrX Report Designer Preferred.
- Experience in SNF/AL/IL industry preferred.
- Highly detail oriented and organized in work, and able to multi-task.
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from Controller to accomplish objectives.
- Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results.
- Ability to accept constructive feedback for professional development.
