Position Description
Coordinates a section in a department that has institutional oversight responsibilities. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program or departmental project as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and/or students.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Communicate with students, parents, staff, colleagues and administrators to address issues and concerns. Assist with the contracts and assignments process including the customer service responsibilities in person by phone, email and mailed correspondence and work with the financial responsibilities of the student accounts.
  • Develop strategic plans, function, events, tours, information tables and Red Raider Orientation for student recruitment and retention that supports the departmental goals and objectives of the University Student Housing Department and Texas Tech University.
  • Create job requirements, hire, train and supervise the Housing Ambassador student assistants. Adhere to business attire dress code. Any and all other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge of all necessary technology systems. Support the SERVICEplus and Total Quality Management philosophies of Texas Tech while ensuring the departmental policies, procedures and philosophy are meeting the needs of the department, students, staff and the University.

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree plus two (2) years related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience to equal six (6) years.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with hiring, training and evaluating student staff.
  • Experience as a liaison with other departments.
  • Experience with recruitment and retention and event coordination.
  • Experience with room assignment software and management including Residential Management Systems, - Inc. (Mercury), Banner, Cognos, Pure Connect (CIC) and other software.
  • Experience with committee involvement.
  • Experience with time management, punctuality and deadline responsibility.
  • Ability to operate TTU vehicles.
