Santa Monica Proper is seeking a Seasonal Server for the Rooftop Pool who will ensure that guests have an enjoyable dining experience. A seamless merger of historic retrofit and new construction, the 271-room Santa Monica Proper Hotel features interior design by international style icon Kelly Wearstler, multiple dining options by local area culinary stars, a rooftop lounge and swimming pool, and 16,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
Job Overview
- Attend to customers upon entrance
- Present restaurant menus and help customers select food/beverages
- Take/serve orders and answer questions or make recommendations
- Make drinks in a quick and efficient manner
- Check customers’ identification and confirm they’re of legal drinking age
- Collaborate with other servers and kitchen/bar staff
- Handle complaints or challenges with a positive attitude
- Issue bills and accept payment
Requirements
- Proven restaurant serving and bartending experience in a fast-paced environment
- Strong liquor, wine & beer and food knowledge
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proactive attitude with strong organizational and time management skills
- Flexible schedule - Willing and able to work shift duties that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
