The Opportunity

The Seasonal Events Assistant reports to the Engagement and Stewardship Manager to help the Stevens-Coolidge House & Gardens team set up for our large-scale winter event - Winterlights. Winterlights will run from November 25th-January 8th. Shifts for set up will begin October 15th 8am-3pm, Monday-Friday. You will have the opportunity to transition over to working in a customer service position on nights during the Winterlights. The seasonal events assistant position will begin October 15th with set up for Winterlights and run through November 30th with the potential to extend to January if willing to work nights during the event. If picking up additional hours to work during the event these shifts will be Wednesday-Sunday 5pm-8:30pm. More details of these roles will be provided during your interview.


In this role you will:

  • Support the Steven-Coolidge team with set up to produce a successful event, this includes but is not limited to setting up light instillations, preparing structures and assisting around the property with various tasks.

  • Support day of event visitor experience, safety, and services through safety patrols, monitoring, retail support and ensuring proper wayfinding, clean and functioning facilities.

  • Opportunity to continue and expand the position and support day of event visitor experience through admission, retail support, concessions and ensuring proper wayfinding, clean and functioning facilities.

Qualifications

  • Excellent “people skills” to lead, inspire, motivate and work cooperatively and harmoniously with fellow employees, volunteers, committees, members and the public.

  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member.

  • Demonstrated ability to complete assigned tasks and projects, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.

  • Strong commitment to the mission of The Trustees of Reservations.

  • Ability to work nights and weekends is required.

  • Must be willing to climb ladders and lift heavy objects


Working Conditions

  • The ability to work in all weather conditions

  • Lift up to 30 pounds

  • Willing to climb ladders to hang lights

  • Stand for hours at a time


Compensation

This job is a part-time, seasonal position with an hourly wage starting at $16/hr.
