SCHOOL MONITORS - PROBATIONARY FOR 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR
REPORTING TO: Building Principals
LOCATIONS & HOURS:
(2) Colonie Central High School - 6.5 hours per day
(1) Lisha Kill Middle School - 6.5 hours per day
(2) Sand Creek Middle School 6.5 hour per day
(3) Roessleville Elementary School - 6.5 and 6.75 hours per day
(1) Forest Park Elementary School - 6.5 hours per day
START DATE: September 2023
SALARY & BENEFITS: $15.34 per hour per Teamsters Contract (2023-2024 rate).
Job Qualifications
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Establishes good rapport with students. NYS Department of Education pre-service course (provided by district).
Good general intelligence; ability to get along well with children and command their respect; some knowledge of first aid methods; clerical aptitude; neat personal appearance; familiarity with school routines; good powers of observation; tact; courtesy; good judgment; good physical condition. Monitors must meet the qualifications of “highly qualified” under No Child Left Behind guidelines. Duties include hallway supervision, after school detention and late bus supervision.
