About the Position:
The Scheduling Assistant can undertake a variety of day-to-day office and clerical tasks. Primarily they will help ensure that appointments are being scheduled and followed up with. You will assist with the patient scheduling process via phone and email in a virtual office setting where the administrative work is done from the comfort of your home office. We are looking for a friendly and committed candidate who is enthusiastic and energetic with a positive attitude to join us. The ideal candidate is meticulous with details, extremely organized, follows tasks to completion and able to work independently, but also with others when needed. The Scheduling Assistant has experience with scheduling and a baseline knowledge of insurance plans. The abilities to continue to evaluate, prioritize and shuffle work load is crucial. Strong customer service skills are vital.
Hours:
Hours will be 10-15 per week to start, but will increase to 20-25 as the company grows. Some work time must be between 8a-12p EST M-F, with additional work time later in the day. The ideal candidate would have an occasional 1-2 hours on the weekend.
Candidate will be responsible for:
- Scheduling therapy and medication management appointments for patients either by phone or email
- Helping maintain schedule so records are accurate and complete and can be used to analyze patient/staffing pattern
- Responding to patients in a timely manner
- Additional administrative and clerical duties
About the Person:
- Self Starter and Driven; this is a growing business, must be willing to learn, grow, and change with us
- Meticulous to details, extremely organized, follows tasks to completion and able to work independently, but also with others when needed.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks in order to complete assignments within the time allotted and maintain standard workflow.
- Anticipates and/or identifies scheduling conflicts and takes action to prevent issues.
- Responds promptly, reliably, and in an understandable and detailed manner
- Troubleshoot and problem solve independently, but know when to ask for help
- You have a familiarity with healthcare insurance and basic insurance jargon
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite applications (Gmail, calendar, Drive), and ability to self-learn new programs
- Candidate will be professional, compassionate, and courteous with patients on the phone and over email
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $18.00 per hour
