Sales, Parts/Customer Service Representative

Portsmouth Distributors is looking for a full-time inside sales and customer service professional. The successful candidate will be capable of managing a well-established customer base as well as developing new business to support the next phase of our expansion. This is an exciting position in a small company with opportunities for growth. Team goal is to grow revenue and operating margin by strengthening existing customer relationships, as well as identifying and procuring new customer accounts to increase revenue. Reporting to the General Manager, the main duties are:

• Respond to telephone and internet generated sales leads

• Identify, research and follow up on new business opportunities

• Liaise with vendors on product pricing and special requirements

• Prepare cost calculations and quotations

• Follow up quotations to secure orders

• Process orders and handle related administration

• Keep customers advised about deliveries

• Be the contact point for all customer-related issues

You must be adaptable, responsible and capable of working unsupervised as part of a small team. Good telephone and interpersonal sales skills are essential, along with attention to detail and accurate data entry with MS Office applications. You must have prior experience in a technical customer service or sales role, but product specific training will be provided.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years previous sales and customer service experience.

• Previous experience where finding the right part was an essential function of the job.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.

Job details

Salary: $18 - $35/hour depending on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: Monday - Thursday 8 AM -4 PM, Friday 8 AM - 1 or 2 PM
