DESCRIPTION:

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the Site Safety & Health Officer you will:

• Support site management's requirement to safely execute a quality process.
• Administer the company's Health & Safety Program locally; site Accident Prevention Plans; Activity Hazard Analyses; Process Hazard Analyses; and other site- specific plans, procedures, and policies
• Manage Health & Safety Training, ensuring employees understand hazards associated with site conditions and activities and methods to mitigate those hazards
• Audit and inspect site conditions and activities; initiate corrective and preventive actions and verify the effectiveness of actions taken
• Provide guidance of safety improvements
• Lead incident investigations with affected supervisor, assuring actionable causes of incidents are acted on by managers and supervisors and verifying the effectiveness of actions taken
• Report activities, findings, incidents and investigations, and site OSHA statistic to the ES&H Manager
• Administer the OSHA 300 Log: review with the ES&H Manager
• Conduct weekly safety meetings with site staff.
• Industrial Hygiene sampling and monitoring as needed
• Documenting and tracking of monitoring data
• Maintain an inventory of industrial hygiene instrumentation and monitoring equipment
• Other duties as assigned by the ES&H Manager

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• A.S. in Occupational Health or other applicable discipline or the equivalent of 5 years of experience as a Safety Professional in an industrial setting.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Strong interpersonal skills along with excellent written and verbal communications.
• Ability to focus on details as required.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, Including MS Teams.
• Ability to explain complex issues to others in a manner easily understood by both associates in the industry and those with limited knowledge of industrial safety.
• Excellent problem/conflict resolution skills, with the ability to handle and diffuse difficult situations in a positive manner.
• Self-motivated, ability to initiate without direct supervision

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS: Minimal travel (<10%)

To confirm to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

SALARY RANGE: $66k to $73.3k

COMPENSATION: This position is eligible to participate in our performance bonus plan.
