The Gasparilla Inn & Club has vacancies for Room Service Operators.

The Room Service Operator role is responsible for servicing guests in a prompt, professional and courteous manner while upholding the core values of The Gasparilla Inn & Club. The Room Service Operators purpose is to ensure the level of service provided to the guest is highly individualized and that each guest experiences the warmth and charm of The Gasparilla Inn & Club.

Job Duties:

• Maintain complete knowledge of: All liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available through Room Service. All menu items, preparation method/time, ingredients, sauces, portion sizes, garnishes, presentation and prices.
• Daily house count, arrivals/departures, VIPs.
• Scheduled in-house group activities, locations and times.
• Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by state liquor regulations,
• Set up and organize workstation with designated supplies, forms and resource materials; maintain cleanliness at all times. Report shortages to supervisor.
• Answer Room Service phone within 3 rings, using correct salutations and telephone etiquette.
• Take guests' food and beverage orders, utilizing suggestive selling techniques and following all departmental standards.
• Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately using the Hours of Operations guide.
• Ensure timely set up and delivery of orders.
• Input charges for amenity orders and coordinate delivery of such with Attendants, following departmental procedures.
• Organize, input and distribute advance orders and trays and table pick up list menu orders according to departmental procedures.
• Assist and oversee Room Service staff in their job functions as specified in departmental standards.
• Pay out tips to designated staff and document such, following accounting and legal requirements.
• Review business status and follow up actions with on-coming Order Taker/Cashier or Supervisor
• Have a complete understanding of Restaurant Connect & Reservations systems
• Maintain Knowledge of all food & beverage service hours of operation & modified dining hours (holidays & special events).
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

Required:

• Minimum age of 18 required to serve alcohol
• Food handling certificate
• Must have exceptional interpersonal skills, empathize with others and value teamwork
• Must possess a hospitality mindset with a passion for creating memorable guest experiences
• Must believe that service is a noble profession and have the willingness to always do the right thing

Preferred:

• Experience in a multi-faceted food and beverage setting i.e. fine & casual dining, banquets, room service, etc.

Working Conditions and Assignments:

Although primarily an administrative position, this can be a physically active role and individuals can expect to work in a variety of environments both indoors and outdoors. This position is also required to work during nights, weekends and holidays.
