Welcome to Wright's Dairy Farm Bakery & Creamery where producing quality dairy and bakery products is our family tradition. Located in Northern RI, we are a real working dairy farm that has been selling fresh milk directly to the public since 1914. Last year we opened Wright's Creamery in Providence and are looking for passionate staff members to support the scooping season at the Creamery and our Scoop Shops in North Smithfield and Warren.

Position Summary

We're hiring seasonal Shift Leaders to support our Creamery and Scoop Shop operations. This leader is responsible for ensuring all retail associates and Scoop Shoop staff carry out their core functions the "Wright" way. Shift leaders are responsible for supervising others, playing an active part of the team engaging in customer service, scooping ice cream, holding keys, depositing money and communicating with other departments.

This position is based in North Smithfield at The Wright Scoop I, but may require seasonal shifts at The Wright Scoop II in Warren and at Wright's Creamery in Providence. This leader is expected to be flexible, motivate teamwork, foster a positive work environment, and carry out the core values of Wright’s Dairy Farm Bakery & Creamery.

This role is great for teachers or college students looking for full time summer position!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Shift Leaders essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• LMA - Lead. Manage. Accountability.
• Leading your sales team so shifts are productive and profitable
• Communicate information and cascading messages to appropriate departments and staff
• Facilitate opening and closing checklist completion
• Update and maintain inventories to prevent shortages
• Greet customers and offer assistance
• Provide excellent service to customers through the scoop window, at scoop counter and in the retail areas
• Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of the Wright’s brand and it's products
• Responsible for preparing cash drawers and making deposits from daily sales
• Maintain a clean, neat and appealing store environment

Skills

• Exceptional customer service skills, the ability to demonstrate that the customer is the number one priority
• Must be able to show initiative and self-motivated
• Must be reliable and dependable in all aspects of work
• Ability to work well within a team oriented environment, willing to help others get the work done
• Proficient oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or related experience is required
• Minimum 3 years’ customer service experience is required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity
• Flexibility to travel between Wright's three locations (North Smithfield, Providence, and Warren) is a must; mileage will be reimbursed

Must be able to lift and/or move items that weigh more than 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

This position operates in a retail business environment. This position routinely uses standard retail and office equipment such as digital cash registers, cell phones, and tablets.
