This position is responsible for cash register operations, collecting money, providing direct assistance to Referral clients and our Neighbors in need. The Sales Associate demonstrates excellent customer service to the customers by greeting and answering questions in a courteous manner. The Sales Associate performs necessary task to ensure the sales floor and surrounding areas are neat and free of clutter, and stock shelves when time allows.

Essential Job Functions

• Run cash register to ring up sales, and Referral client’s vouchers.
• Make and count back change correctly.
• Provide assistance and good customer service to all customers, clients and Neighbors.
• Make sure work area is clean, neat and fully stocked.
• Straighten sales floor during down times.
• Periodically check fitting room and the area immediately outside of it for merchandise to be returned to the sales area.
• Help put out new stock on the sales floor and pull old stock for baling or discards broken items.
• Communicate customer requests to management as needed.
• Maintains regular attendance in accordance with department policy.
• Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
• Comply with the policies of the St. Vincent de Paul/Mission 27 Resale Employee Handbook.
• Establish effective relationships with internal and external customers and clients, and respond to their needs.
• Protects confidentiality of the Society, Mission 27 Resale, the customer and our Referral clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
