With the belief that they were there when we needed them, so we must be there now that they need us, Veterans Inc., the largest provider of supportive services to Veterans and their families in New England, is seeking to fill the Residential Counselor position and become a valued member of the Veterans Inc. team!

This individual is part of a direct care team responsible for the safety and welfare of up to 20 male veterans residing in our Grant Per Diem (GPD) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) programs in Bradford, VT.

This position is part-time, 16 hours a week, day time hours. All part time positions are weekends only, Saturday and Sunday.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAY TO DAY:

• Maintains resident safety and confidentiality.
• Utilize the wand to check all bags as residents enter the facility; administer breathalyzer and random drug tests to all clients; and forward incoming calls for residents.
• Maintains safety and security of the building, company vehicles, and all Veterans Inc. property on site.
• Maintains knowledge of ongoing program issues and developments and informs supervisor of issues and concerns.
• First responder for client-related emergencies, RC are trained in CPR, First Aid, and Narcan administration.
• Prepares and submits detailed shift and incident reports of all activities, incidents and emergencies that occur during shift.
• Assists with training, performs light janitorial and maintenance duties and completes other special projects and duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience working in security, residential or direct care services
• Must be able to successfully pass a CORI/Background records check.
• Compliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. Religious and Medical Exemptions are considered.
• Must be willing to submit to and successfully pass a drug test.
