Research Technician I (Extended Temporary) (Yuma, AZ)
Job description
This is an Extended Temporary Employment (ETE) position.

- Upkeep: Maintain equipment quality and agronomic needs of field trials.
- Applications: Calculating mix rates and applying experimental agricultural chemicals to research crops.
- Note Taking: Record field trial observations (stand counts, stem height and diameter, yield, etc.) and discuss data with supervising agent.
- Coordination: Working with university research station and commercial farms to setup and carry out field trials.
- Publication Assistant: Assist supervising agent with summarizing data and editing publications and periodicals.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Operational knowledge of Microsoft office suite (Word, Power Point, Excel).
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
- Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
- Pesticide applicator’s license or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.
