Salary: $36,184.25 - $43,858.50

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a part-time (25%) Research Scientist VI to lead neuroimaging research studies in the Molecular Imaging and Neuropathology Area. Preference will be for a candidate with both MD and PhD degrees. Studies may involve positron emission tomography to understand the pathophysiology of major depression and its mechanisms of treatment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage regulatory documents, including IRB protocols and IND applications
  • Supervise a Research Assistant to recruit participants for studies
  • Lead neuroimaging procedures and psychological assessments of participants
  • Conduct clinical assessments of safety for participants and provide clinical treatment as needed
  • Work with data analysis team to process neuroimaging and clinical data
  • Prepare presentations for conferences and manuscripts for publication

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD in Psychiatry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical license in New York State, and residency training in psychiatry. Experience leading neuroimaging studies, with preference to candidates that have finished a K award training grant.
