OSU Physicians, Inc.
The Report Writer/Business Analyst will support our clinics by providing the necessary reports that assist the clinics and administrative areas, in operating efficiently.
What will you do?
Under the direction of management, and in collaboration with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC), creates and generates custom/standard reports for organizational initiatives and business operations including but not limited to quality program initiatives to meet regulatory requirements and insurance provider (payor) value-based contracts. Responsibilities include querying Epic/OSUWMC databases, data analysis, data discovery modeling, creating/updating SQL queries, integration of various external data sources, and generation of presentation materials and/or data visualization tools.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Develops clear and well-structured analytical plans and utilizes data sets to analyze billing, patient populations, business outcomes, and business operations of a significant and sensitive nature. Partners with business leaders to understand analyses and the impact of cause-and-effect relationships.
- Maintains an in-depth knowledge of client/department business strategies, processes, and services to aid in data interpretation.
- Creates and maintains custom reports on key business areas and indicators to identify and track trending, process improvement efforts and other business outcomes.
- Demonstrates analytical critical thinking skills for process development or problem resolution.
- Utilizes innovative thinking and tools for optimization of processes, reports and tasks.
- Develops written procedures and user documentation for data analysis and reporting
- Produces information for administrative, billing and clinical presentations and decision support.

What are we looking for in our next new hire?
- Bachelor of Science in information systems or related field, or an equivalent amount of work experience.
- Knowledge of healthcare database management, data collection, and statistical analysis preferred.
- An ideal candidate should have experience in computer applications including proficiency in querying relational databases (SQL is a must), data transformation (e.g. Alteryx) and data visualization (e.g. Qlik, PowerBI, Tableau).
- Candidate to demonstrate ability to interpret data specifications to create/generate the files/reports necessary to meet program/contract requirements and create actionable recommendations based off of that data.
- Strong communication skills to respond and work with customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community, along with effectively interacting with different personality types. Demonstrates self-management, personal initiative, willingness to learn new technologies, and ability to work independently while being a team player.
- Epic certification in Resolute PB, Epiccare Ambulatory, Healthy Planet and/or Clarity, or a related module is ideal!
