Position: Release of Information Specialist
Department: Health Information Management
Location: Corporate Services, Cass City, MI
Hours: Full Time. Days. No Holidays. No Weekends. Full Benefits.
Hills and Dales Healthcare is seeking a full time Medical Records Clerk within our Medical Records department. We are looking for those who have a great attitude to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals who are constantly striving to provide the highest quality of services for our patient.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Knowledge of medical records procedures required
- HIM Program preferred
- RHIT certification or 18 months of experiences is preferred;
- Computer data entry skills;
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and follow through to ensure completion;
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Release of Information Specialist processes health information requests while safeguarding the patient’s rights of privacy. The ROI specialist ensures that all release of information processed are compliant with the written request authorization, company policy and HIPAA statutes.
This position engages in direct customer service and must perform duties and conduct interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department. This position works within a cohesive department, supporting departmental needs as required.
