Position: RN Supervisor
Department: Med/Surg and Transitional Care Unit
Status: Part Time
Hours Per 2-week Pay Period: 48
Shift: 12-hour Nights
Weekend Rotation: Every Third
Holidays: Rotating
The RN Supervisor is responsible for maintaining quality patient care through effective management of the patient care activities during his/her assigned shift. In the absence of the Patient Care Director, Chief Nursing Officer, and/or designee, the Supervisor has the authority and responsibility for administrative decisions and appropriate implementation of protocols and notification of administration. This position ensures that quality patient care is provided in an efficient and safe manner consistent with our mission and organizational goals, focusing on the patient and staff experience. The supervisor remains flexible to changing systems, treating patients, families, and all members of the healthcare team with respect and consideration.
The Supervisors agrees to take on additional duties in leadership development, customer service, employee, and patient satisfaction. While the Supervisor is a clinical expert, they received this designation to improve throughput in the department and develop his/her own leadership skills.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the State of Minnesota.
  • Must have current CPR/BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC and NRP certifications. Successful completion of HICS training and a leadership course within one year of acceptance of supervisor role.
  • Previous experience in Med/Surg nursing and management of patients
  • Possess knowledge of growth and development; specifically, an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional, and chronological maturation process. An understanding of the range of treatment needed by patients of all ages in relation to growth and development processes to include neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Demonstrate leadership and application of good interpersonal relationships and principles of supervision.
    • Exhibits excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills, strong verbal, and written communication skillset.
    • Ability to act with discretion, tact, and professionalism. Possess initiative, good judgment, a positive attitude and responsibility for decision making.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to display a high degree of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Must be able to meet facility required physical job requirements.
Schedule: This position is scheduled 48 hours per two-week pay period with hours of 7P-7A, including every third weekend and would participate in the holiday rotation.
