Minnesota Specialty Health System (MSHS) in Wadena is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse Supervisor to join a team dedicated to quality care. As an Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) facility, MSHS focuses on rehabilitative education, building interpersonal skills, and developing community engagement skills to increase each client's independence and self-management of their illness, behavior, and emotion.

The Registered Nurse Supervisor will supervise the coordination of nursing care provided to clients in the facility. You will serve as a leader and a resource for nursing staff and other employees and act as a liaison between nursing and other departments. Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure unit staffing needs are met by appropriate utilization of staff
  • Assign staff to participate in pre-admission evaluation, admission, treatment, and discharge planning
  • Interpret medical data, reports, and nursing assessments to other team members
  • Assess qualifications of candidates and hire employees, maximizing the ability to obtain and choose candidates who will effectively achieve program objectives
  • Evaluate employee performance and work eligibility
  • Contribute to and participate in the safety and security for the facility, patients served, and co-workers by following and applying all safety policies and procedures

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must meet the requirements for a Mental Health Practitioner as defined in MN Statute 245I.04, subdivision 4 and must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Current licensure in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse AND
  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree plus 3 years Registered Nurse experience, 2 of which must be as a charge Registered Nurse, OR
  • Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing plus 4 years Registered Nurse experience, 2 of which must be as a charge Registered Nurse

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Minnesota Statute 245I
  • Experience working with The Joint Commission (TJC)
  • Experience working with acquired brain injury
  • Experience in IRTS licensing as well as Supervised Living Facilities
