• SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY - Job Summary (general statement of purpose or objective of position)
• This individual is responsible for patient preparation, as well as, assisting the physician with procedures and minor surgeries. Also performs various diagnostic tests and patient education in the clinic. Maintains equipment and acts as liaison between the physician and all outside agencies to include hospitals, nursing homes, DME companies, pharmacies, HMO’s and other physician’s offices, as well as, with the patient. Supports other medical staff members as necessary to maintain patient flow. In some cases where lab duties are involved it will be responsible for the proper collection and processing of blood samples to assure accurate analysis and promote safe handling.

• MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Knowledge, skills, abilities, license, registration, certification, education, and experience
• HS Diploma and/or GED or
• Certificate and/or Registry from an accredited institution. Must be able to provide documentation of certification and/or registry.
• Lab function requirements: Proficient in phlebotomy skills. Knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures and practices, quality control, laboratory equipment and testing methods , medical terminology.
• Minimum 2 years experience as Medical Assistant preferred in a clinical setting and/or equivalent.
• Lab, EKG, and X-ray experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.50 per hour
