Regional Liaison
Upstate NY Region

Summary

Trellis Rx is seeking highly motivated and customer service-oriented pharmacy professionals who want to elevate their career to the next level. This position is part of Trellis’ Regional Team and is responsible for helping launch new clinics, expand in existing clinics, training and onboarding on-site staff at customer sites within their assigned areas.

As a Regional Liaison for the Upstate NY area, your home site will either be Mohawk Valley Health System in Utica, NY or Rochester Regional Health in Rochester, NY.

Responsibilities:

Centralized / oversight responsibilities:

  • Developing processes for safe and efficient fulfillment of medications serviced by specialty pharmacy services
  • Developing appropriate training materials
  • Developing and deliver workshops and/or development seminars for liaisons, pharmacists, and leadership groups
  • Representing Trellis at conferences and workshops

Site-level responsibilities:

  • Educating providers and clinic staff on the Trellis model to gain their support
  • Understanding and aiding in the enhancement of established workflows to help the customer deliver the Trellis experience to patients
  • Initializing work in selected client clinics and ensuring that the patient/Trellis engagement is appropriate and consistent with customer preferences. This includes:
    • Ensuring that every patient who can benefit from specialty pharmacy services are identified and enrollments are offered
    • Explaining the benefits of the customer’s specialty pharmacy program, without impeding patient choice of pharmacy, and achieving patient participation
    • Successfully enrolling patients into the program
    • Eliminating barriers to medication access by performing but not limited to the following tasks: benefits investigation, prior authorization, and financial assistance
    • Overseeing services provided to enrolled patients – ensuring that everything from date enrolled to medication obtainment are completed quickly, accurately, and in accordance with patients’ needs and Trellis RX protocols
    • Providing direct support to enrolled patients to ensure that they are supported throughout their therapy regimen and achieve their intended clinical outcomes
    • Appropriately triaging any clinical questions to an appropriate clinician (pharmacist, nurse, or provider)
    • Training liaisons is a consistent manner to ensure that the Trellis model is being followed per proper protocol
  • Help in continuously improving our operating model – to gain client buy-in, reduce cycle time, improve KPIs systematically
  • Help promote teamwork and positive morale at client sites, upholding Trellis culture and values and ensuring they flow through every interaction and process
  • Help build systems and processes to identify, hire, onboard and develop quality talent
  • Display excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in collaborating with coworkers and clients, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure

Travel:

  • Travel is an essential component of this job – this would include travel both by air as well as car. To fully function in this role, employee must have a valid driver’s license. Position requires ability to travel a minimum of 40% of the time

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; four-year college degree or health care degree (e.g., nursing, or social work) preferred
  • Existing pharmacy technician certification or applicable licensure according to legal requirements in the state
  • Experience as a specialty pharmacy liaison or technician
  • Experience collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals (preferably in a medical clinic)
  • Knowledge of benefits investigation, prior authorization support, and patient financial assistance work Strong people skills and the ability to collaborate with teams across customers
  • Proficiency in standard workplace software (e.g., MS Office), EMR systems (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, or Meditech), and dispensing systems (e.g., QS1, RX30, or Computer Rx)

Hospital Requirements: (may be required)

  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • Varicella - (2) documented doses or a Blood Titer proving
  • Hep B3 Series
  • (Flu) Influenza - require for hire between Oct 1st - April 30th
  • COVID Vaccine - Full (Required)
