The Opportunity:
Join the UCF Student Health Team as a Radiologic Technologist II and add to our dedication to provide excellent healthcare to the community that we serve.
The Radiologic Technologist II is responsible for providing radiologic services to patients and performing diagnostic imaging examinations using X-ray equipment and administering treatment.
Responsibilities:
Radiology Tasks

Performs and analyzes patient X-ray and reports results to SHS physician team.

Minimizes radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors. Performs assessment on patients. Assist with answering technical questions and offer pre-procedure advice.

Documents patient care services by charting patient and department records.

Utilizes all radiographic equipment to perform x-rays, including (but not limited to) portable equipment according to developmental factors and age specifics. Processes radiographic images in accordance with guidelines and photographic techniques.

Prepares room, equipment, and supplies.

Responsible for the technical aspects of radiology safety measures under the supervision of Physician, as it relates to State and Federal requirements. Recommends programming, monitoring and location of warning or identifying devices.

Provides feedback to department leaders for any issues of concern.

Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventory; evaluating new equipment and techniques. Perform quality control activities to ensure optimal quality radiography.
Administration

Acts as a department supervisor. Responsible for all personnel functions within the department; hiring, position descriptions, scheduling, appraisals, and corrective actions according to established criteria.

Conducts orientation and training of Radiology personnel.

Performs payroll functions. Develops and maintains Radiology Imaging procedures to include procedure manuals, quality control, quality assurance and proficiency testing.

Maintains and monitors radiology supplies inventory; anticipating needed items; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies. Manages and prepares departmental budget with Assistant Director of Clinical Services-Sports Medicine.

Represents SHS Radiology as a leader, liaison, consultant, and participant in meetings.

Performs other duties and assignments as requested by the department leader or designee.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience. Must have a valid State of Florida license as a General Radiographer in accordance with Chapter 468, Florida Statutes, and a valid and current ARRT certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates with administrative experience in a radiology lab setting.
