2ND SHIFT -

The Quilter is responsible for loading three (3) different rolls of cloth material into the quilting machine. The three layers are sewn together by the automated "quilter". The rolls of material weigh 50-100 lbs. each and are replaced approximately 3-5 times per hour. The Quilter works at a very rapid speed and must be detail oriented to assure top quality and no missed stitches. If there are problems, the Quilter must be able to diagnose them quickly and determine if maintenance must be called for the repair. The machine is operated by a touch screen computer.

Tends one or more automatic, multiple needle sewing machines (quilters) that quilt layers of materials used to make quilted panels or borders.

• Continuous walking and standing (standing at workstation, walking short distances around workstation, between workstation and material staging).
• Frequent repetitive use of hands/arms to operate glue and /or nail gun as well as handle various mattress components.
• Frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds (mattress component parts/fabric rolls).
• Occasional lifting and carrying of items weighing over 50 pounds, with assistance (larger mattress components and rolls of material).
• Ability to use touch screen computer
• Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime on demand.
• Other duties as assigned.
